I've applied for a booth for Levi's 501 Day on the 28th of May about alternative education, and I'm on the lookout for resources to promote during the day.
I am looking for materials for the following:
- Study Abroad Programs – I'm getting stuff mailed from Up With People, but I would also like materials from AFS Malaysia, Raleigh International Kuala Lumpur, Semester At Sea, The Peace Boat and any other related programs (Malaysia-based or international).
- Alternative Schools – such as CloudBreak Creative Skills Centre, The Actors Studio, Kumon centres, and much more (arts, writing, sports, anything that's not a traditional school or a tuition centre basically)
- NGOs – such as Amnesty International (Malaysia), AWAM, WAO, and any other NGO about any topic whatsoever
- Government, National, and International – meaning anything organized by the Government (such as Rakan Muda or what the Penang State is doing), or international bodies like the United Nations or the World Bank
- Other Opportunities – There's tons I must have left out – awards, classes, groups, summer camps, so on and so forth. Anything that has to do with alternative education.
- Interesting People – Profiles of people who have experienced or exemplify alternative education, such as Suzanne Lee
- Alternative Education in General – books, websites, pamphlets, DVDs, CDs, anything to do with alternative education or facets of alternative education.
If you have any idea of resources I should look for, or how to get all of them before May 27th 2006, please email me ASAP! Also please pass the word to anyone and everyone that can help.
You're also welcome to help me out during the day itself – email me for details.
Thank you ever so much!
